TAABC & The City of Toledo Waterways Initiative
On February 28, 2008, the Toledo African-American Bureau of Commerce attended the City Council hearing for the Waterways Initiative. The Art Jones and Vince Wiggins of the TAABC gave testimonies and questioned the selection committee on issues related to Purchasing Ethics and Inclusion. The official selection of the Engineering Contractor is postponed due to the efforts of the Bureau, key members of City Council and concerned, African-American citizens such as Larry Sykes. TAABC member, Andrew Eribo of the Ribway Engineering Group also spoke as well.
TAABC Online Executive Auction
The Toledo African-American Bureau of Commerce prepares to launch Toledo's first ever, Online Executive Auction. Projected launch date is March 15, 2008.
Rudolph-Libbe & TAABC Minority Contractor Initiative (Download Prequalification Form)
The Toledo African-American Bureau of Commerce is pleased to announce a partnership with Rudolph-Libbe. In this partnership, all African-American-owned contractors interested in doing business with Rudolph-Libbe must be pre-qualified through the Bureau and enter the TAABC Minority Contractor Business Builder Program. Through this relationship, Rudolph-Libbe and the TAABC will hold a evaluation meeting with African-American contractors and Rudolph-Libbe estimators and other key staff. During the meeting, African-American contractors will have the opportunity to present their business qualifications and establish meaningful, new relationships.
TAABC and The Lucas County Arena Project
The Toledo African-American Bureau of Commerce,consults with the Lucas County Commissioners and Lathrop. Encourages project owners and builders to add an additional layer of oversight for the inclusion process for the new arena.
